ADEN-SABA
Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Muammer al-Eryani, hailed a significant security achievement by authorities at Al-Sarfeit border crossing in Mahra province, where they foiled a smuggling attempt of dual-use electronic devices used in drones and explosives manufacturing.
Al-Eryani stated this success reflects the vigilance and efficiency of customs and security agencies in countering organized smuggling by Iran-backed Houthi militia, threatening Yemen, regional and global security.
He emphasized that since closure of Hodeidah port, numerous arms and drug shipments have been seized, exposing militia's continued reliance on smuggling and armed escalation to impose their destructive agenda.
The Minister urged international community to enhance surveillance and prevent such materials from reaching Houthis, supporting Yemen's government against smuggling networks and terrorist financing.
Al-Eryani concluded that foiling smuggling operations is the first line of defense against Houthi terrorism and its destructive influence on Yemen, the region, and the world.
