The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre's mine action project "Masam" has successfully removed 1,319 landmines planted by Houthi militia across Yemen over the past week.

According to the project's media office, Masam's engineering teams cleared 1,227 unexploded ordnances, 65 anti-tank mines, 26 anti-personnel mines, and one explosive device from various provinces.

This latest clearance effort has secured 252,556 square meters of land, bringing the total area cleared by Masam since its inception in June 2018 to 71,164,694 square meters.

Since its launch, Masam has removed a total of 517,818 landmines, unexploded ordnances, and explosive devices from Yemeni territory.

Project Director General Osama Al-Qusaibi stated that these efforts are part of Masam's humanitarian mission to safeguard areas affected by conflict and ensure the safe return of displaced persons
