Yemen's Interior Minister, Major General Ibrahim Haidan, held separate meetings with the Japanese and South Korean ambassadors to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in training, capacity building, and counter-terrorism efforts.

During his meeting with Japanese Ambassador Yoichi Nakashima, Minister Haidan praised Japan's support for Yemen, particularly its contribution to the Yemeni Maritime Security Partnership Conference, which aims to enhance the capabilities of Yemen's Coast Guard in combating smuggling, including arms trafficking.

Ambassador Nakashima reaffirmed Japan's commitment to supporting Yemen's security and stability, citing continued cooperation in the security sector.

Minister Haidan also met with South Korean Ambassador Bong Kai Do to discuss joint cooperation in security training and capacity building.

The minister highlighted Yemen's Interior Ministry achievements, including the development of civil status and biometric card systems, which will enhance data accuracy and security operations.
