The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Waed Badhib reviewed the progress realized in the government economic and monetary reforms as well as the ongoing efforts to carry out the Economic Recovery Plan 2025-2026.
He provided a detailed report during the meeting of Yemen partners held today, Wednesday, in the Jordanian capital Amman.
Dr. Badhib has confirmed the steadfast commitment of the Yemeni government to implement the comprehensive reforms program which is strongly backed by the Presidential Leadership Council and the Council of Ministers.
He stated that the government has managed to achieve unprecedented improvement in the exchange rate of the national currency with 43 percent.
The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation underlined the government's efforts aimed at facilitating the entry and work of international organizations, providing the necessary security protection, simplifying administrative and customs procedures, and enhancing coordination between local authorities and international entities.
Badhib highly praised the continuous support from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, deeply appreciating the new Saudi support with $368 million through the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen.
The Director of the World Bank in Yemen Dina Abu Gaida attended the meeting, while the British Ambassador to Yemen Abdu Sharif, the U.S. Ambassador Steven Fagin, the European Union Ambassadors and the head of the International Monetary Fund mission Ester Briz contributed to the discussions via video conferencing.
