The Yemeni Government delegation headed by the Minister of State and Governor of Aden Ahmed Lamlas concluded its official visit to the Chinese city of Shanghai, participating in the closing ceremony of the senior officials' workshop organized by Shanghai University of International Studies, coinciding with the thirtieth anniversary of the signing of the twinning agreement between the cities of Aden and Shanghai.
During the visit, Lamlas met with Chinese officials, most notably the Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. His talks with the Chinese officials focused on joint cooperation in the fields of investment and academic and technical development in the temporary capital Aden.
The visit program included a number of significant sites, including Yangshan Port, the Shanghai Historical Museum and the Chinese Communist Party School.
Lamlis expressed his gratitude to the Shanghai Municipality, Shanghai University, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chinese embassy in Yemen and the Chinese-Arab Center for Peace and Development Studies for their role in making the visit program successful.
He stated that Yemen is keenly seeking to boost cooperation with China in various fields.
At the end of the visit, the delegation met today, Sunday, with representatives of the Yemeni community in Shanghai.
The community's concerns and pressing needs were key focus of the discussions.
