As Yemen approaches the 11th anniversary of the Iran-backed Houthi militia's catastrophic coup on September 21, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Muamer al-Eryani, has strongly condemned the ongoing devastation inflicted on the nation.
"The coup was not a response to legitimate demands, but part of Iran's expansionist agenda to control Yemen and use it as a platform to attack neighboring countries, disrupt international shipping lanes, and serve Tehran's sectarian interests," al-Eryani stated.
Since seizing power, the Houthis have looted billions from Yemen's treasury, committed widespread human rights abuses, displaced millions, and destroyed the country's economy.
They have also transformed Yemen into a proxy war zone, launching attacks on regional cities and international shipping lanes. Minister al-Eryani urged Yemenis to unite against this Iranian-backed militia to restore the state and protect Yemen's Arab identity.
