[18/09/2025 03:58]

RIYADH - SABA
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Sheikh Othman Mujalli met Thursday with the French Ambassador to Yemen, Catherine Corm-Kammoun.

During the meeting, political developments, bilateral relations between the two countries, and prospects for strengthening and developing them were discussed.

The meeting also discussed the economic and financial reforms taken by the government headed by Prime Minister Salem bin Briek and the Central Bank to improve currency stability, stressing that it is everyone's duty to support these efforts and enable institutions to perform their tasks efficiently in the context of positive measures to achieve citizens' aspirations and improve services.

Mujalli pointed out that the current priorities of the Leadership Council and the government are to confront Houthi terrorism, due to the threat it poses to the interior, the region, and the safety of international navigation in the Red Sea, adding that building the state and its service institutions, developing the armed forces, coast guard, and border guards, and restoring state institutions, represent the essence of the work of the Leadership Council with the support of our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and international friends.

He said: “The threat of the Houthis and terrorist organizations is the first threat," while the humanitarian needs of our people represent the most sacred challenge at the current stage, and the Houthis are the greatest enemy that destroyed Yemen in the service of Iran.

He noted that the Yemeni people are living in difficult living conditions, while the Houthis continue their criminal practices of kidnapping employees of international organizations, confiscating rights, gagging mouths, military escalation on various fronts, and attacking ships using Iranian expertise and weapons, which threatens the security of the region and the world.

For her part, French Ambassador Catherine Corm Kammoun confirmed her country's continued support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government, noting that France is making efforts in international forums to provide more support and services to the Yemeni people.
