PM: Gov't keen to deal constructively with peace efforts

The Prime Minister Salem bin Braik restated that the internationally recognized government is very keen to deal positively with all regional and international good offices aimed to bring the comprehensive and fair peace that is based on the references of the political solutions that are nationally, regionally and internationally agreed on, namely the UN Security Council's resolution 2216.

His remark came during his talks today, Sunday, in the transitional capital Aden, with Swiss Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Thomas Ortella.

He stated that peace path is very clear and well-known, blaming the terrorist Houthi militias for blocking the peace efforts.
The international pressures are necessary to deter the Houthi militias' terrorist behavior, he stressed.

The talks covered topical issues in different areas, bilateral coordination and relations, the Switzerland's contribution to the humanitarian, relief and developments actions in our country as well as cooperation about the protection of the Yemeni antiquities.
The Prime Minister praised the Swiss supportive stances in support of the Yemeni people and the internationally recognized government, greatly appreciating the Swiss significant relief and humanitarian interventions.

"We're looking forward to benefit from the Swiss experiences in managing the financial and banking system, supporting efforts to combat money laundering and building the capacities of government institutions", said bin Braik.

He also cited Yemen's need for Swiss assistance to help the government to establish an emergency center to address natural disasters caused by climate change.

The Swiss Ambassador affirmed his country's continued support for Yemen over the next four years, maintaining the funding levels without decline.

He noted that cooperation programs will focus on development, humanitarian aid, child protection, mine clearance and cash transfer projects, among others.

The Swiss diplomat also stated that his country is willing to provide the necessary expertise in managing the financial and banking system and responding to natural disasters, which contributes to enhancing donors' confidence in the programs of the Yemeni government and its reform measures.
