The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Waed Badhib held discussions today, Thursday, via video conferencing with the Japanese Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen NAKASHIMA Yochi over bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to strengthen and develop them in various fields.

The conversations covered several topics related to training, capacity building, supporting the infrastructure of services and vital sectors, as well as infrastructure development projects for the telecommunications sector and the postal authority.
Dr. Badhib highly praised the supportive role of Japan for Yemen through the 'JICA' programs and grants, mainly in capacity building and vocational training, as well as supporting the government's efforts in development pathways.
He called for expanding the scope of workshops and training programs in crucial areas that Yemen needs.
The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation expressed his hope for urgent intervention from the Japanese government to contribute to the emergency response for the floods and inundations that have recently swept through several Yemeni governorates.
