ADEN-SABA
Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY), Ahmed Ghaleb, held talks on Tuesday with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Yemen, Jeannette Seppen, in the interim capital, Aden, to discuss the latest financial and economic developments in the country and their impact on living conditions and basic services.
The meeting reviewed recent positive developments, including a noticeable improvement in the exchange rate of the national currency and a reduction in prices. Governor Ghaleb emphasized the importance of sustaining these gains by implementing structural reforms in public revenue collection, rationalizing expenditures, and adjusting national priorities to address urgent social needs and alleviate economic pressures.
He stressed that overcoming the deep-rooted economic challenges requires immediate support from regional and international partners to help correct structural imbalances and restore stability to Yemen’s macroeconomic framework.
