Dr. al-Shaibi emphasized that the Yemeni-Korean relations have witnessed significant milestones since their inception in 1985, the most notable of which is the Korean investment in the oil sector, representing the first global discovery of energy for the friendly Republic of Korea and a strong boost to Yemen's development and reconstruction efforts.
He pointed out that this has given the two countries a strategic dimension in their steadfast bilateral relations to this day.
In a seminar organized by the Korean Embassy in Yemen, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Director of the Office of the Presidency commended the Republic of Korea's supportive positions toward Yemen and its political leadership over the past decades.

He praised the Korean support for the Republic of Yemen, both in terms of developmental and humanitarian assistance, as well as effective political support in international forums, particularly in the Security Council and the sanctions committee chaired by Korean allies.
