ADEN – SABA
Presidential Leadership Council member Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami met on Thursday in the interim capital, Aden, with the head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission, which backs the Presidential Leadership Council, Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, to discuss the latest political developments in the country, in light of the Houthis' continued stubborness in thwarting peace opportunities.
Al-Mahrami and Al-Ghaithi emphasized that the terrorist Houthi militias bear full responsibility for hindering peace, noting that the Houthis' obstinancy is worsening the humanitarian situation in the country.
Al-Mahrami was briefed by Al-Ghaithi about the work of the Consultation Commission's standing committees, particularly the meetings held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, and the Egyptian capital, Cairo. Al-Ghaithi reiterated the Commission's commitment to unifying efforts among the various stakeholders to achieve political consensus and stability.
Al-Ghaithi expressed the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission's support for security reform efforts to combat smuggling, enhance security and stability in the liberated governorates.
