Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr. Mansour Bajash, met today in the interim capital, Aden, with the Somali Ambassador to Yemen, Abdul Hakim Mohammed, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.
The meeting addressed recent political developments in the region and globally, as well as issues of common interest. Dr. Bajash reaffirmed the strength of the historical and fraternal ties between Yemen and Somalia, emphasizing the Yemeni government’s commitment to expanding cooperation across various sectors and enhancing coordination to serve the mutual interests of both nations.
Ambassador Abdul Hakim expressed Somalia’s deep appreciation for Yemen’s continued support, reiterating Mogadishu’s backing of efforts to restore peace and stability in Yemen. He also affirmed Somalia’s eagerness to deepen bilateral cooperation, particularly in areas that promote security, development, and shared prosperity.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Mohammed Al-Zindani, Head of the Arab World Department at the Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mohammed Jilani, Second Secretary at the Somali Embassy in Yemen.
