Minister of State, the Governor of Aden Ahmed Hamid Lamlas has emphasized the importance of strengthening the partnership with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) to shift from emergency aid to sustainable projects.
During his meeting on Tuesday with the Country Director of GIZ Projects in Yemen Mark Schumacher and his accompanying delegation, Lamlas highlighted the efforts made by the local authority to improve the situation in the city despite current challenges and difficulties.
He confirmed the local authority's welcome of the agency's decision to relocate its headquarters to the temporary capital, Aden, expressing full readiness to provide the necessary facilities for the success of its missions.
Governor Lamlas reviewed the local authority's experience in revenue generation through the implementation of an electronic networking system across all districts, alongside activating partnerships with the private sector to serve the city.
He pointed out that the proposal to transition from emergency aid to sustainable support is a priority in all meetings with international organizations.
For his part, Mark Schumacher presented the key projects being implemented by the German Agency in Yemen, confirming their commitment to enhancing cooperation and coordination with the local authority in Aden and expanding the scope of projects to meet community needs and promote sustainable development opportunities.
