MARIB - SABA
The Houthi militia has abducted two children in Dhamar Governorate, Yemen, in a bid to pressure their father, a teacher already detained by the militia since July 31, 2025.
According to the Equality Organization for Rights and Freedoms, the children, Syaf (16) and Ali (15), were taken to the same prison as their father, Muhammad Hussein Ali Naji, and forced to record a video statement denying the militia's blockade of the family's home.
This recent abduction is part of a disturbing pattern of behavior by the Houthi militia, which has been accused of numerous human rights abuses, including child trafficking and torture.
The organization's statement condemned the militia's actions, highlighting the risks faced by civilians, particularly children.
The Equality Organization for Rights and Freedoms has called for the immediate and unconditional release of the detainees and an end to all forms of violations against them.
The organization's statement also emphasized the need for international intervention to stop these crimes and hold the perpetrators accountable
