Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Mustafa Noman, discussed Sunday with the new representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Ahmed Suleiman the Commission's efforts in promoting and protecting human rights in Yemen.
The two parties discussed also the facilitations provided by the government to support the the commission's activities and programs.
Noman emphasized the importance of the commission's ongoing role in monitoring and documenting human rights situations, highlighting the challenges and violations faced by civilians, particularly in areas controlled by the Houthi militias.
He praised the technical expertise provided by the commission to support national efforts in this field.
For his part, the new representative of the commission expressed his appreciation for the existing cooperation with the Yemeni government, reaffirming his commitment to continue working to enhance the partnership that contributes to protecting human rights and improving the conditions of civilians in various regions.
Both parties agreed to continue coordination and develop joint action plans to ensure the unification of efforts and enhance humanitarian response, as well as to raise awareness among government entities and the community about human rights and societal responsibilities.
