The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Shaya Zindani met today, Sunday, with the Charge d' Affaires of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Yemen Zhao Cheng.
Yemeni-Chinese bilateral relations was key focus of the talks.
Dr. Zindani expressed the Yemeni government's appreciation for Chinese initiatives in areas such as capacity building and training, health programs and opportunities to participate in economic and commercial events, especially those offered within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
The conversations covered aspects of cooperation in the fields of energy and infrastructure, electricity and energy projects, as well as exploring opportunities for Chinese companies to invest in Yemen.
The discussions also touched on cooperation in customs, food safety, trade exchanges, the facilities provided by China for Yemeni exports and the mechanisms for the accreditation of the certificate of origin to facilitate the movement of goods between the two countries.
The Chinese diplomat stated that his country is very interested in boosting its relations with Yemen and increasing cooperation in the areas of development, infrastructures and capacity building.
