The Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, Ahmed Ghalib, met with bank officials in the temporary capital, Aden, to discuss the mechanism of financing and regulating imports, as well as related procedures.
During the meeting, the role of national commercial and Islamic banks, as well as microfinance banks, in successfully implementing this mechanism was reviewed. The goal is to achieve stability, alleviate the suffering of citizens, and combat illegal and unlicensed activities.
Ghalib praised the banking sector's role in supporting the Central Bank's efforts and expressed regret over the sabotage of some bank branches and exchange companies. He emphasized that the authorities would deal with these illegal activities according to the law.
