The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLX) Abdul-Rahman al-Mahrami emphasized the importance of regularly depositing all tax revenues into the Central Bank in the temporary capital Aden, to improve the economic situation and alleviate the suffering of citizens.
"All tax revenues should be regularly deposited into the Central Bank in Aden", he said.
He voiced his remark during his meeting today, Monday, in the temporary capital Aden, with the head of the Tax Authority Dr. Jamal Sroor.
The conversations focused on the progress of the Tax Authority, the achievements it has made during the first half of this year, the challenges it faces and ways to overcome them.
Sroor revealed that there has been an increase in tax revenue collection of 28 percent during the first half of this year, expecting that the increase will reach 50 percent by the end of the year.
The PLC's Member urged the Tax Authority to develop the tax collection mechanisms to improve the revenues.
He said" You have to develop mechanisms and tax work programs including the application of an automation system and transition from a paper-based system to a comprehensive electronic system".
