Yemen's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Abdulsalam Al-Awadhi, discussed today with the Regional Director of the UNEP West Asia Office, Sami Dimassi, ways to enhance environmental conservation projects in Yemen.
Al-Awadhi stressed the importance of the program's support for completing existing projects and funding environmental projects that have suffered damage as a result of the war waged by the terrorist Houthi militia. He also addressed the impact of the militias' targeting of ships in the Red Sea, both on the environment and on maritime traffic.
He stressed the need for the international community and the United Nations to take action to designate the Houthi militia.
