Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Braik visited the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Aden to review efforts to control markets and prices, particularly in light of recent improvements in the exchange rate of the national currency.
During the visit, bin Braik held a meeting with Minister of Industry and Trade, Mohammed Al-Ashwal, and ministry officials. They discussed measures to regulate markets and intensify inspection campaigns to ensure fair prices for basic goods.
The Prime Minister emphasized the need for decisive action to control prices and translate the recent decline in the exchange rate into actual price reductions for goods and services. He stressed that the government is committed to protecting consumers and ensuring a fair balance between the interests of citizens and the private sector.
Bin Braik directed the formation of effective field inspection teams in Aden and other liberated governorates to monitor markets and enforce penalties on violators. He also called for the issuance of weekly bulletins to educate citizens about their rights and protect them from exploitation.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of social justice and national responsibility in caring for citizens' interests and regulating markets.
