The Republic of Yemen has welcomed the announcement by Canada, Australia, Portugal, and Malta of their intention to recognize the State of Palestine. In a statement, the Yemeni Foreign Ministry expressed appreciation for this significant international development, viewing it as a historic milestone and an important step towards ending a conflict that has lasted for over half a century.
The ministry called on other countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to take similar steps, emphasizing the importance of upholding the principles of international law and supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The statement reaffirmed Yemen's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause, stressing that recognition of the State of Palestine is not only a legal and historical imperative but also a genuine expression of commitment to justice and human rights.
