[25/07/2025 02:12]

ADEN - SABA

The Republic of Yemen welcomed the announcement by French President Emmanuel Macron regarding France's intention to officially recognize the State of Palestine.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed in a statement, which the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) received a copy of, that this important initiative reflects a clear and courageous stance towards achieving historical justice for the Palestinian people, embodying France's commitment to supporting international legitimacy and human rights at a time when the need for responsible positions to restore the principle of two states is increasing.

The statement confirmed that this step reflects the growing global awareness of the extent of the injustice faced by the Palestinian people for decades and expresses a genuine will to break the political deadlock and revive hope for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The statement reiterated the Republic of Yemen's steadfast position in support of the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people, led by the right to self-determination, liberation from occupation and the establishment of their independent and sovereign state.

It also renewed Yemen's call for the international community to build on this initiative and intensify efforts towards a just and comprehensive political solution that ends the suffering of the Palestinians and ensures security and stability for all peoples in the region.
