The Republic of Yemen participated Tuesday in the 56th Session of the Arab Permanent Committee on Human Rights, held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, with a delegation headed by Nabil Abdul-Hafiz, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Rights for the Partnership and International Cooperation Sector.
The meeting discussed the tragic conditions faced by the Palestinian people due to the crimes and brutal violations committed by the Israeli occupation, which aim at starvation and extermination.
The meeting also addressed various Arab human rights issues and the efforts to coordinate joint Arab human rights initiatives.
The meeting condemned these crimes and called for urgent intervention and rescue for the Palestinian people in the occupied territories, particularly in Gaza.
In this context, the Yemeni delegation participated in the meeting of the group of states parties to the Arab Charter on Human Rights to discuss the importance of activating the Charter Committee.
At the beginning of this meeting, the member states elected the representative of Yemen to chair the meeting.
