Yemen's Ministry of Legal Affairs and Human Rights has strongly condemned the killing of five children and injury of others in a landmine explosion in the Al-Habil area of Taiz province.

The explosion, caused by remnants of Houthi militia's war remnants, occurred on July 11, 2025, resulting in the deaths of children aged between 12 and 14.

The ministry held the Houthi militia fully responsible for the crime, citing their history of planting landmines and explosive devices in residential areas.
The ministry called on the international community, including the United Nations and its envoy to Yemen, to condemn the crime and pressure the Houthis to stop using such tactics.

The ministry emphasized that the continued killing of civilians, especially children, due to Houthi war remnants, poses a permanent threat to human security and requires urgent action to hold perpetrators accountable.
