Al-Eryani Condemns killing five children in Houthi bomb explosion in Taiz
[12/07/2025 07:57]

ADEN - SABA
Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Muammar al-Eryani strongly condemned the horrific crime committed by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia, which resulted in the death of five children and injury to others in the al-Arsoom area of the al-Hashmah region in the al-Taziah district, northeast of Taiz Governorate over the explosion of a locally-made explosive device.

In a press statement, al-Eryani explained that, according to local sources, the children found the explosive device while playing in the area before it exploded, killing them instantly.

The victims were: Mubarak Yasser Ali Ahmad Ghaleb al-Sharabi (14 years old), Osama Abu Bakr Ahmad Ali (12 years old), Bashir Akram Mohammad al-Fadhli, Anas Jawad Mohammad Saleh and Ahmed Ali Muqbil Abdullah al-Atimi.

Al-Iryani noted that the Houthi militia, in a desperate attempt to evade responsibility for the crime, tried to attribute the incident to the national army, claiming that the children were killed due to artillery shelling, despite the fact that the area is far from the front lines, and no clashes had been recorded there.

Additionally, no shells were fired toward it as it is a populated area, and the national army does not plant or manufacture mines and explosive devices, which refutes the militia's claims and confirms its full responsibility for the crime.

The Minister of Information affirmed that this heinous crime is part of a series of daily crimes and violations committed by the Houthi militia against civilians and children, whether in areas under their forceful control or in liberated areas, due to their insistence on indiscriminately planting mines and explosive devices along contact lines, roads, and farms, which are often washed away by rain into populated areas, resulting in innocent victims.

Al-Eryani called on the international community, the United Nations and local and international human rights organizations to clearly condemn this crime and hold the Houthi militia legally and morally accountable for the victims of mines and explosive devices that continue to claim the lives of civilians in various Yemeni regions.

He urged urgent action to classify the militia as a terrorist organization, cut off its funding sources, and pursue its leaders involved in these crimes and violations against the Yemeni people.
