Prime Minister, Salem Saleh Bin Braik, launched the first phase of an emergency national campaign to vaccinate children against polio in the temporary capital, Aden.
The campaign, supported by the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF, aims to immunize over 1.345 million children in 120 districts across 12 liberated on March 12-14, 2025.
The Prime Minister, accompanied by the Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Qassem Buhaybeh inaugurated the campaign by administering polio vaccine doses to a group of children.
In his address, the Prime Minister emphasized the government's commitment to protecting children's health and combating epidemic diseases, including polio.
The campaign will involve over 13,000 health workers deployed across 6,924 fixed and mobile teams, reaching children in remote and hard-to-access areas.
The Prime Minister urged all citizens to cooperate with the campaign and emphasized the importance of routine immunization in preventing the spread of diseases.
