Human Rights Report: Houthi Militias kill, injure 3,835 women
[30/06/2025 07:25]

ADEN - SABA
The Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militias have committed horrific crimes against women in Yemen.

Random artillery shelling, landmine explosions and the use of live ammunition have resulted in the deaths of 1,456 women and injuries to 2,379 others between January 2021 and January 2025.

The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms reported that it documented 447 cases of abduction, enforced disappearance, and torture of women in areas controlled by the Houthis.

These serious violations occur in the complete absence of international oversight and often amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The network urged the international community and organizations concerned with the protection of women and children to take immediate action to condemn these violations, hold the perpetrators accountable, and provide necessary support to the victims and their families. It emphasized the need to include the Houthi militias on lists of countries and groups accused of committing violations against women.

The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms called on international organizations and human rights groups to pressure the Houthi militias to allow international investigative teams to enter areas of violations, accurately document the crimes, and take urgent practical steps to stop the ongoing massacres against women and children in Yemen.
