Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Shaya Zindani met wednesday here with Julian Harnis, the UN Resident Coordinator in Yemen.
During the meeting, they discussed efforts to mobilize international resources for the humanitarian response plan for 2025-2026, ensuring improved effectiveness of humanitarian interventions. The minister emphasized the importance of coordinating efforts with relevant government entities to ensure integration and achieve sustainable impact.
Minister Zindani reaffirmed the Yemeni government's full support for international organizations operating in Yemen and its commitment to providing the necessary facilities to enable them to carry out their tasks.
He stressed the importance of protecting international staff and ensuring their safety, rejecting any targeting, arrest, or harassment against them.
For his part, Julian Harnis expressed his appreciation for the existing cooperation between the Yemeni government and the UN system, affirming the UN's commitment to continue working together to enhance humanitarian response and provide necessary support.
He highlighted the importance of ongoing coordination with government authorities to ensure that assistance reaches its rightful recipients efficiently and transparently.
