Masam Project Removes 1,139 Mines, Unexploded Ordnance During First Week of June

Masam Project has removed 1,139 mines and unexploded ordnance, including improvised explosive devices, during the first week of June.

These were planted by Houthi terrorist militias in various provinces.

The operations room of Masam project stated in a statement on Sunday that among the removed ordnance were 1,080 unexploded munitions and 56 anti-tank mines.

It also noted that the engineering teams associated with the project managed to clear 146,921 square meters of Yemeni land during the same period, as part of ongoing efforts to secure the lives of civilians in affected areas.

The statement mentioned that the total number of items removed since the project's launch at the end of June 2018 has reached 337,027 unexploded munitions, 8,237 improvised explosive devices, 146,617 anti-tank mines, and 6,802 anti-personnel mines.

It highlighted that the total area cleared of mines and war remnants since the project's inception has reached 67,579,917 square meters of Yemeni land, marking one of the largest demining operations in the region.
