ADEN - SABA
Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Bareik called on Yemen's partners from donor countries and organizations to continue their support during this critical phase, emphasizing the importance of sustainable and flexible financing and enhancing investment in priority sectors.

This came during the Prime Minister’s participation on Tuesday in a meeting of Yemen's Partners Group, attended by several UN and international organizations and donors to Yemen to discuss support for the government’s plan to enhance economic recovery and the urgent priorities of the Prime Minister.

He conveyed the greetings of His Excellency President of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi and his fellow council members to the participants, expressing appreciation for their continued support.

He thanked the United Kingdom and the World Bank for chairing the Yemen Partners Group and highlighted the importance of the meeting in discussing an effective coordination mechanism between the government and international partners.

The Prime Minister presented the urgent priorities of the government to Yemen's partners, expressing its desire to work with all partners to implement these priorities, especially in addressing the economic and service deterioration.

He reaffirmed the government's commitment to five key pathways: achieving peace, ending the coup, maintaining the legal status of the state, combating corruption and promoting transparency and accountability, financial and administrative reform, developing economic resources and optimizing the use of foreign aid and grants.

He pointed out the complete alignment between the government’s plan and the directions and support of the Presidential Leadership Council, as well as the ongoing coordination to establish policies and set priorities.

Bin Breik addressed the current economic challenges and the impact of external factors, the efforts being made to achieve financial and monetary stability, and the urgent need for immediate support to cover the funding gap.

He emphasized that the government is moving forward in combating corruption as a top priority, noting that the government, in cooperation with the World Bank, is currently preparing a policy on partnership with the private sector, which will have a significant impact on funding infrastructure needs.

He stressed the importance of donor support for this policy in providing financing and investments with the private sector and offering the necessary guarantees and assurances for its implementation.

He expressed his desire to work effectively and in coordination with Yemen's partners to overcome current challenges.

During the meeting, representatives from several donor countries and organizations expressed their congratulations to the Prime Minister on the confidence he has received to lead the Yemeni government and their trust in his ability to succeed despite the difficult circumstances.
