Human Rights Report Documents Torture in Houthi Militia Detention Centers

A recent report by the Yemen Network for Rights and Freedoms has documented the torture of nearly 1,893 abductees, including women and children, in Houthi militia detention centers.

The report, covering the period from January 1, 2018, to January 30, 2025, highlights the widespread use of physical and psychological torture in 15 governorates.

According to the report, the abductees include 117 children, 43 women, and 89 elderly individuals.

The report also notes that 394 abductees were subjected to severe torture, resulting in their deaths, including 12 children, 9 women, and 15 elderly individuals. Some detainees died in custody, while others died after their release due to deteriorating health conditions.
