The Chairman of the Shura Council Dr. Ahmed bin Daghr discussed Tuesday, with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Yemen, Do Bong-kai the latest developments on the national scene and the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.

The meeting also reviewed the humanitarian and relief efforts provided by the Korean government to Yemen, emphasizing the importance of continuing this support in light of the current challenges facing the country.

Dr. bin Daghr praised the historical relations between the two friendly nations, expressing his hope to expand the horizons of joint cooperation in various fields.

He also addressed the latest political and economic developments in Yemen, including the ongoing obstinacy of the terrorist Houthi militia and its rejection of peace opportunities, while continuing to kill the Yemeni people and posing a persistent threat to maritime navigation, which poses a serious risk to regional and international security.

Dr. bin Daghr affirmed that achieving peace in Yemen requires respecting the will of the Yemeni people and international resolutions, and not allowing the Houthi militia, supported by the Iranian regime, to impose its choices on the vast majority of Yemenis. He stressed the necessity of supporting a just and comprehensive peace process.

For his part, the Korean ambassador reiterated his country's support for Yemen in various fields, especially in humanitarian and developmental areas, emphasizing Korea's commitment to enhancing partnership and cooperation with Yemen.
