RIYADH - SABA
Prime Minister Salem bin Braik received Wednesday a delegation from the European Union led by the Director for the Middle East and North Africa at the European External Action Service, Helene Le Gal and the accompanying delegation.

The meeting, which included the Head of the European Union Delegation to Yemen, Gabriel Vinales , discussed the existing and future partnership between Yemen and the EU and the support provided by the EU in diplomatic, humanitarian and economic fields.

This includes support for the Yemeni Coast Guard to combat smuggling and secure international navigation and joint coordination to address regional and international challenges.

The meeting also touched on the government's urgent priorities in service and economic fields, the path of comprehensive reforms, the economic recovery plan, and the required European and international interventions to support them. Additionally, they discussed enhancing the national currency's position, alleviating humanitarian suffering exacerbated by Houthi terrorist attacks on oil facilities and maritime shipping.

The Prime Minister listened to a briefing from the European delegation on the priorities of cooperation and future areas, and the EU's continued support for Yemen.

They also discussed preparations for organizing a high-level humanitarian conference in Brussels this month to mobilize support for the Humanitarian Needs Plan for Yemen this year.
