Information Minister Muammer al-Eryani has strongly criticized the Houthi militia's use of terms such as "Yemeni army" and "armed forces" in their statements, calling it a blatant attempt to hijack the state's identity.
Al-Eryani said the Houthi militia is nothing but a "cheap Iranian proxy" with no connection to the country's legitimate armed forces. He pointed out that most of the militia's members are "road robbers" and smugglers who have never received formal military training.
The minister cited the example of Yahya Saree, the Houthi militia's spokesperson, who claims to be a high-ranking officer despite having no military background.
Al-Eryani emphasized that the real Yemeni armed forces are those fighting in defense of the revolution and the republic, under the banner of the internationally recognized state. He warned that the Houthi militia's actions are part of a larger Iranian project to destabilize the region.
