Member of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Major General Faraj al-Bahsani, met with Deputy Head of the German Embassy in Yemen Janina Kopfmüller to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and address the current challenges facing Yemen.
The meeting, which was also attended by Deputy Head of the German Embassy in Saudi Arabia Thomas Schneider focused on exploring opportunities for cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the economic and humanitarian sectors.
Al-Bahsani briefed the German diplomat on the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council to achieve security, stability, and address the humanitarian crisis in Yemen. He highlighted the significant economic impact of the Houthi militia's targeting of oil facilities, which has resulted in the loss of approximately 70% of the state's resources.
Al-Bahsani emphasized the importance of international support, particularly from Germany, in alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people. He also praised the role of the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the UAE in supporting the Presidential Leadership Council and the government.
For her part, the German diplomat expressed her country's commitment to supporting the government
