Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qasim Buhybeh met Wednesday here with a World Bank team led by the Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa Fadia Saadeh.
The two parties discussed the health situation in Yemen and the impact of the World Bank's support in stabilizing health sector and providing health services in various governorates.
The meeting touched upon the World Bank's projects in the health sector, particularly the Human Capital Project, which is a crucial factor for stability and continuity.
During the meeting, Minister Buhybeh highlighted the ministry's plans after the first Health System Conference to reform and restructure the health sectors and healthcare models, providing better opportunities for health work.
He emphasized the ministry's need for World Bank support to achieve this vision and sustainable development, and to increase community participation.
For her part, the World Bank representative outlined the bank's future vision, international funding challenges, and efforts to find new funding opportunities.
She noted that the health sector remains a priority for funding, with new local opportunities emerging.
