A virtual meeting was held Wednesday and included Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan, the German donor team led by Marcella Masyarik, Senior Program Coordinator at the German Development Bank - Yemen, Anis al-Sharjabi, the International Organization for Migration team, and representatives from the German Ministry of Cooperation.

The meeting discussed interventions in several sectors in the governorate.

The meeting reviewed International Migration's interventions in Taiz Governorate from 2023 to 2024 in the sectors of water, energy and agriculture.

The discussions tackled projects and interventions planned for implementation in 2025 as part of the economic and social development plan in coastal districts and other districts through 32 projects at the governorate level, including 11 projects in the districts of al-Makha, Mawza, al-Wazi'ah and Thubab in the agricultural, water, and solar energy sectors.

Governor Shamsan emphasized the importance of implementing the economic and social development plan projects in the governorate and the effective role of German funding through the Development Bank and the German Ministry of Cooperation in vital sectors for the governorate. He appreciated the role of the International Organization for Migration, which has provided many important projects to Taiz, hoping that projects and funding would be allocated according to the plan and based on priority.

Director General of the Planning and International Cooperation Office, Nabil Jamal, also pointed out the importance of covering the funding gap to address humanitarian and developmental needs in the governorate.
