Al-Aradah discusses latest developments with Dutch Ambassador
[29/04/2025 05:41]

RIYADH – SABA:
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Lieutenant General Sultan al-Aradah discussed Tuesday with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Yemen Jeannette Seppen latest developments in Yemen's political, economic and humanitarian domains.

Al-Aradah and Ambassador Seppen reviewed the distinguished bilateral relations between Yemen and the friendly Kingdom of the Netherlands, exploring ways to enhance, develop, and expand avenues for mutual cooperation and coordination that serve the common interests of both countries.

He praised the contributions and humanitarian interventions of the Dutch government in Yemen over the past years, particularly in humanitarian and developmental fields, capacity-building programs, and women's empowerment.
He emphasized the need to focus on supporting vital sectors in Yemen, such as health, education, and food security, targeting these areas with upcoming Dutch programs and projects in Yemen to ensure their success and achieve the desired positive impact.

The Council Member briefed the Dutch ambassador on the main current challenges in Yemen due to the escalation by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia, its continued repressive practices against civilians, and its rejection of all regional and international initiatives aimed at achieving peace. This has exacerbated the worsening humanitarian crisis in Yemen and intensified the suffering of its people.

He reaffirmed the importance of continued international support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, backing their efforts to achieve security and stability, restore state institutions, improve basic services for citizens, and support the economic recovery plan and reconstruction projects, thereby advancing development to meet the needs of the population.
