The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi called on the European Union (EU) to establish a strategic partnership with the internationally recognized Yemeni government, sustain its efforts to eliminate the coup of the Iranian-allied terrorist Houthi militias, manage economic and humanitarian challenges and establish peace, stability in Yemen.
He underlined the need for an effective partnership with the EU during his talks today, Tuesday, with the head of the EU Delegation in Yemen Gabriel Viñals, French Ambassador Katherine Corm Kammoun and German ambassador Hubert Jager.
The talks covered a range of topical issues including the developments in the Yemeni national scene, the terrorist Houthi militias' attacks in the Red Sea, the international efforts to secure maritime passageways and challenges the Yemeni people are facing due to coup d'état of the Iranian regime-backed terrorist militias.
Dr. al-Alimi expressed gratitude to EU's members states for their supportive stances in support of the Yemeni government and people, deeply appreciating their significant contribution to the humanitarian and development efforts in Yemen.
The European Ambassadors reiterated the commitment of their own countries to support the Yemeni government, people and the security and stability of Yemen.
