US Treasury imposes sanctions on 3 ships, their owners for supporting Houthi terrorist militias
[28/04/2025 06:50]

WASHINGTON - SABA
The US Department of the Treasury announced today, Monday, the imposition of sanctions on three ships and their companies that own them, due to their support for the Houthi terrorist militias supported by the Iranian regime, as part of US measures that emphasize the commitment to disrupt the Houthis' efforts to finance their dangerous and destabilizing attacks in the region.

The Ministry's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) said in a statement that it " targeted with sanctions those ships and the companies that own them for supporting the Houthi militia by delivering duplicate oil shipments through ports controlled by the militias, after the expiration of the permits granted to them, which helps the Houthis finance their military activities".

It added "The vessels and their sanctioned owners are the Tulip BZ (San Marino flag) owned by Zaas Shipping & Trading Co (registered in the Marshall Islands), the Maisan (Panama flag) owned by Bagsak Shipping Inc. (registered in Mauritius), and the White Whale (Panama flag) owned by Great Success Shipping Co (registered in the Marshall Islands.("
"These ships and companies targeted by sanctions are part of the Iranian regime's network of terrorist proxies and partners who have provided support to the Houthis, and the Houthi militia has deployed missiles, drones and sea mines to attack commercial shipping interests in the Red Sea, threatening global freedom of navigation and the safety of international trade," it said .

The US Treasury Department reiterated its continued use of its tools and authorities to target those who seek to enable the Houthis to exploit the Yemeni people and continue their violent campaign. It will impose sanctions on anyone who deals with these vessels and companies targeted by sanctions..
