Vice Foreign Minister Mustafa Noaman discussed today in the interim capital, Aden, with Mari Yamashita, Deputy Head of the United Nations Mission to Support the Hodeidah Agreement (UNMHA), to discuss developments in Hodeidah Governorate and ways to enhance the mission's efforts.

The two sides reviewed the latest developments in Hodeidah and the surrounding areas.

The Vice Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of the role played by UNMHA in monitoring the ceasefire and ways to develop communication mechanisms between the government and the mission, which would enhance the chances of success of the UN mission.

The Vice Foreign Minister stressed the need to activate UN oversight mechanisms and strengthen the mission's field presence to ensure the prevention of any violations and the consolidation of the ceasefire.

On her part, the Deputy Head of UNMHA explained the work to enhance coordination with local parties and the international community, appreciating the positive cooperation of the Yemeni government and the local authorities in Hodeidah and Mokha, and the continued political and logistical support for the mission's efforts.
