Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Mustafa Noman discussed Wednesday with Hassan Hersi, the head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Aden, ways to enhance coordination and cooperation in humanitarian and relief efforts in Yemen.
The Vice Minister praised the efforts of the OCHA office, emphasizing the importance of continuing humanitarian support amid the increasing challenges facing Yemen and the necessity of intensifying humanitarian interventions, especially in the areas most-war impacted area.
Noman reaffirmed the Yemeni government's commitment to facilitating the work of international organizations and its full support for joint coordination to ensure that aid reaches those in need efficiently and transparently. He stressed the importance of unifying efforts between humanitarian organizations and the government to avoid duplication and achieve the desired positive impact.
For his part, Hassan Hersi expressed OCHA's appreciation for the cooperation of the Yemeni government, noting that the office is working to enhance humanitarian response plans and coordinate the efforts of international and local partners to provide humanitarian assistance across various governorates.
