Vice Foreign Minister Mustafa Numan discussed Monday with Simon Holima, the Deputy Regional Director of the World Food Program in Yemen ways to enhance humanitarian support.
Numan discussed challenges facing the program's ongoing interventions in Yemen amidst current difficulties, particularly regarding securing the needs of the most vulnerable groups and alleviating the severity of humanitarian crises.
The Vice Foreign Minister praised efforts of the World Food Program in Yemen, emphasizing the importance of strengthening partnership and coordination with the Yemeni government to ensure the effectiveness of interventions and the delivery of aid to those in need, while also considering the logistical and economic challenges facing the country, especially following the reduction of external interventions.
For his part, the Deputy Country Director of the World Food Program expressed the program's appreciation for the support and facilitation provided by the Yemeni government.
He confirmed the organization's commitment to continue working in Yemen and making every possible effort to ensure the ongoing provision of food and humanitarian assistance, despite the funding-related difficulties.
