U.S. Ambassador: Washington committed of restoring maritime security
[11/04/2025 04:24]
RIYADH – SABA
The U.S. Ambassador to Yemen Stephen Fagin has reaffirmed the United States' commitment to supporting the aspirations of the Yemeni people for peace and prosperity, creating a better environment for achieving a comprehensive political solution, and enabling Yemenis to move toward a more hopeful future for their country.

He also confirmed commitment to restoring maritime security in the Red Sea.

During a reception organized by the U.S. Embassy in Yemen yesterday evening, marking the 249th National Independence Day of the United States, and attended by Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism Muammar al-Eryani, Ambassador Fagin noted that the attacks by the Houthi terrorist and illegal militias on global shipping lines have hindered efforts to secure a bright future for the Yemeni people.

The U.S. Ambassador emphasized that focused airstrikes target only the Houthi terrorist militias and their military capabilities, not the Yemeni civilians held captive in their controlled areas.

He also mentioned the aim to eliminate Houthi facilities for weapon storage and manufacturing, command and control centers, and other sites used to direct their missile, drone, and explosive boat attacks, as well as to eliminate senior Houthi leaders.

Fagin pointed out that the United States is working intensively to prevent the flow of weapons from Iran and other countries to the Houthis, enhance cooperation with regional partners, and work to halt the financial flow to the Houthis.
