ADEN - SABA
The Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qaserm Buhaybeh called for mobilizing the necessary efforts and resources to uphold maternal and newborn health.
He launched his appeal as he contributed to discussions launched virtually today, Monday, on the occasion of World Health Day, which is celebrated on April 7, with the participation of donors and the World Health Organization.
The year-long event addresses maternal and newborn health, urging governments and the health community to intensify efforts to end preventable maternal and neonatal deaths and prioritize women's long-term health and well-being.
The discussions touched on the health situation in Yemen, especially mothers and children, the standards and indicators of health morbidity, the large gap in health and humanitarian funding for Yemen and the danger of this to public health, as Yemen is still a country that needs continued humanitarian and health support, particularly for the most needy groups in society.
