Yemen has affirmed that the Iran-backed Houthi militia poses a direct threat to regional peace and security and to international navigation, saying the group is a tool used to undermine Yemen’s sovereignty and stability, disrupt basic services, and obstruct the delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need.

General al-Zubaidi emphasizes urgency of implementing matrix for classifying Houthi Militia terrorist organization

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Major General Aidarus Qasim al-Zubaidi has stressed the importance of hastening the implementation of the Prime Minister's matrix regarding the decision to classify the Houthi militia as a terrorist organization.

During his meeting Monday with Interior Minister Major General Ibrahim Haidan and several ministry officials, he emphasized the need to tighten security and enhance coordination among various specialized agencies to ensure stability and maintain public peace for citizens.

Al-Zubaidi was briefed by Haidan and the officials on the progress of work in the ministry, the level of security readiness and the preparations of the security agencies, in addition to the performance of the departments and agencies affiliated with the ministry and the services provided to citizens across the liberated provinces.

The meeting discussed the implications of the U.S. decision to reclassify the Houthi militia as a terrorist organization.
In this context, he emphasized that this decision places significant responsibilities on the Ministry of Interior, particularly concerning security measures at maritime, land and air ports to ensure the prevention of any potential threats.
