Member of the Presidential Leadership Council General Tariq Saleh inspected Sunday the progress of work on the second phase of the road project of Taiz-Makha Road, which connects Mawza and al-Wazi'iyah, reaching the beginning of the al-Kadaha road in Taiz Governorate.

This project is being implemented with generous funding from the United Arab Emirates.
The project, which follows the first phase (al-Kadaha - al-Birain,) extends over 37 kilometers with two lanes of 20 meters wide,including a central island.

It aims to enhance economic growth and facilitate the movement of trade and citizens between the coast and the city of Taiz, which has been suffering the consequences of the Houthi militia's siege for ten years.

Tariq Saleh praised the advanced level of achievement in implementing the project, affirming that the road will be a vital artery for improving living and economic conditions in the liberated areas.

He urged an acceleration of work to ensure the road is opened on schedule, emphasizing the importance of adhering to quality and technical standards.

He confirmed that the project reflects the commitment of the national resistance to serve the people of Taiz and the liberated areas, breaking the restrictions imposed by the Houthi militia's war, thanks to the generous support from the brothers in the United Arab Emirates.

The works include paving and asphalting the road according to modern standards, as well as constructing bridges and drainage systems to mitigate the risks of floods that threaten low-lying areas.

It is expected that, upon completion, the road will reduce the time needed to transport goods and travelers from Aden via the western coast to the city of Taiz.

Tariq Saleh also checked on the conditions of citizens in the villages adjacent to the line in the Mawza district and exchanged greetings with them on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
