Marib Authorities Urge German Relief Organization to Reconsider Health Intervention Cuts
[26/02/2025 04:17]
MARIB - SABA
Local authorities in Marib Governorate have appealed to the German Emergency Relief Organization (DKH) to review its decision to reduce health interventions in the governorate, warning of catastrophic consequences for the local healthcare system.

Deputy Governor Dr. Abd Rabbuh Miftah met with DKH representative Robert Orina to discuss the implications of the decision, which would impact critical health services for displaced persons and host communities.

Miftah emphasized the devastating impact of funding cuts on the physiotherapy center at Al-Wahda Hospital, which provides essential services for over 140 children with conditions such as cerebral palsy and congenital deformities.

Marib Governorate is currently grappling with a severe humanitarian crisis, hosting over 62% of Yemen's displaced population. The situation is exacerbated by declining international support.
