A high-level meeting was convened in Aden today to discuss the World Food Programme's (WFP) national strategic plan for Yemen, covering the period 2026-2028.
The meeting, chaired by Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Nizar Basuhayb, brought together key stakeholders, including the WFP's Deputy Country Director Simon Holima.
The gathering aimed to review the plan's contents, methodology, and alignment with Yemen's national priorities. Discussions focused on food aid distribution, funding, and resource allocation, as well as project implementation criteria.
Dr. Basuhayb underscored the importance of collaborative efforts among stakeholders to address Yemen's food security and humanitarian challenges. Simon Holima emphasized that the WFP's plan will prioritize combating food insecurity, with a focus on effective resource allocation within available funding constraints.
